TLC singer’s bankruptcy tossed

Posted on Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at 2:23 pm

Former TLC member T-Boz, born Tionne Watkins, had her third bankruptcy filing tossed out last week. Creditors proved to the judge that the singer was not participating enough in resolving her bankruptcy.

For instance, the singer was accused of not attending negotiation meetings with creditors or filing certain paperwork needed for the bankruptcy. Now, Watkins must wait until July, or at least 180 days after her case was dismissed, to refile, if she chooses to do so. Until then, creditors are able to repossess the singer’s assets.

T-Boz filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in October with approximately $700,000 in unresolved debts, after a case she filed the February before was thrown out. She also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1995 as a part of the girl group TLC.
